Marilyn: Hello my name is Marilyn Jackson, and I am a Nigerian-based model.
Ikoyi Elite: How did you break into the modelling industry?
Marilyn: Well I always wanted to be a model since I was a kid, so I entered into it after high school.
Ikoyi Elite: Are you a commercial or high fashion model?
Marilyn: Commercial /runway.
Ikoyi Elite: What agency/agencies represent you?
Marilyn: For know-it-all Sparrows modeling agency. But I am yet to be signed.
Ikoyi Elite: What challenges did you face while launching your modelling career?
Marilyn: My height. I am not that tall so I get a whole lot of rejection and I sometimes feel intimidated.
Ikoyi Elite: How do you maintain your looks?
Marilyn: By eating fresh and living healthy. Working out and drinking a lot of water.
Ikoyi Elite: What is your most memorable job?
Marilyn: Haven't seen any worth it.
Ikoyi Elite: Is modelling really as glamorous as it seems?
Marilyn: No, it's not. Only people in it know the answer. The struggle.
Ikoyi Elite: What is your dream modelling assignment?
Marilyn: Advertising campaign for a cosmetics brand and Victoria's secret runway show.
Ikoyi Elite: What are your favourite industry networking events?
Marilyn: London Fashion Week.
Ikoyi Elite: Which is your preferred fashion week?
Marilyn: Milan and London fashion week.
Ikoyi Elite: What lesser known fashion weeks should models look out for?
Marilyn: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Ikoyi Elite: Which iconic model/models do you admire?
Marilyn: Akele Ruth, Aliana king and Adutek.
Ikoyi Elite: What advice do you have for an aspiring model who is trying to inexpensively build a portfolio of high quality pictures? What kind of photographers, stylists, makeup artists and hairstylist do they approach?
Marilyn: Like I always tell some people, look for the style that suits you. You can always use you phone to take pictures for starters.
